Challenge yourself academically, but give yourself plenty of time for fun as well.

I suspect 1% of the fire insurance purchasers account for at least 80% of the payouts. That's how insurance is supposed to work! A major problem with our current system is that insurance gets involved with the other 99% too much.

That said, I agree that we don't handle chronic illnesses well. But this is more a technical/scientific problem than an insurance problem. Just what is the ideal remedy for obesity anyway? Opinions vary, to put it mildly.

I think the biggest potential for breakthrough is to move beyond the tweak one variable approach to science. Sometimes you need to play with cross terms to see something.

For example: does sugar cause obesity? Go visit a fructarian web site. You will find emaciated people. How about starch? Look to the Third World. Lots of skinny starch eaters. How about fat? Plenty of trim low carbers out there.

It could be combinations of food types that triggers obesity. At a McDonalds you get fat and sugar at the same time. Ditto for most desserts. How many foods in nature are both sweet and fatty? About the only food I can think of is milk, which is not exactly natural for adults -- and even there the sugar is lactose, not sucrose or fructose.
